Ralph, it doesn't have an adjustable ground balance, but it should still do okay (for single frequency) detector in wet, salty sand. It's not designed as a salt beach hunter but on vacation it did well. In the dry stuff it kicks butt!

Does anyone know if the delta 4000 works as well under water. I'm thinking about purchasing one but I would like to have one that I can use on the beach.

I really like that new Gold Bug. I wish it had a bigger coil though, but it will be a good bedrock sniper!

Bill,

I have been watching your footage and I must say you know what's goin on. I have been doing the bottles thing and I believe I am ready to get on with the metal detector part of hunting. I however, do have a large parcel of land that has never seen a detector and need some instruction. Are you up for it? E-mail me with your thoughts.

I just used the G2 last week on North Carolina beaches. It handled the wet sand surprisingly well for a single frequency machine. It could really clobber the small targets...it had me digging deep in the dry sand too! If salt beach hunting is your primary focus, you may want to consider a multi-frequency detector though...it's hard to beat them for surf hunting.
