prospecting
is there anyone near the charlotte area that uses a sluice, or does any kind of prospecting that would allow me to come watch or help for a little while, ive been curious about this for a while, i saw a guy with a sluice set up and he was working a small creek one morning on the way to work one morning, but i cant remember where he was.

RE: prospecting
Hey guys I know this might be a little late but take a good look at your prospectoive creeks while there high and try to figure where the low pressure spots are. Then look at the areas where the high water lines might be if the water were ten times higher, this would help you to figure where the gold might be deposited during 100 and 1000 year floods as this is pretty much what iy takes to moves the gold. Most of the gold in creeks was put there oven millions of years. It takes a major event to move gold once it has been deposited in a major event. I guess what i am trying to say is your paydirt might be high and dry due to streams meandering across valleys or being moved by mudslides.
Sorry i could go on for days I hope you guys get some color.

Awesome tips gopher! I have a couple of creeks on our land that are way up right now due to all the snow...I'll check 'em out.

RE: prospecting
Hey Mark: Dont forget to take your camera and get pics so you have land marks to reference when the water goes down. I forgot to put that in my first post!!
Good luck!!!
