How do you actually tell if a car battery is genuine or a knockoff here?

    • Had a weird experience last year where I bought a battery from a small shop in Ajman and it died within seven months. The shop guy swore it was original and showed me a warranty card that looked photocopied, which in hindsight should have been my first clue. Now I’m shopping again for my Lexus and I’m extra cautious because I keep hearing stories about fake batteries floating around the market, especially the popular brands. A relative told me to only buy from places that are authorized dealers and he mentioned Battery Zone UAE as one option he’s seen recommended in a few groups. But honestly how do you even verify this stuff as a normal buyer? Is there a serial number you can check with the brand, or holograms on the packaging, or do you just have to trust the shop? I’m specifically looking for genuine car batteries in Dubai and I don’t mind paying a bit more if it means not getting burned again. Any tips on what to look for when buying, especially for brands like Varta or Amaron, would really help me out here.
