    • My Infiniti Q50 is out of warranty since last month, and I keep going back and forth on where to take it from now on. The dealer has always treated me fine, but their last quote for a simple brake and fluid job made me blink. A colleague told me independent mechanics do the same work for much less, and that some of them know Infiniti better than the dealer does. Another friend said that is how people end up with the wrong parts and a headache. I live in Abu Dhabi and drive about thirty thousand kilometres a year, mostly city roads, so the car needs regular care and I would like a place I can trust for the next few years. I searched for the Best Infiniti mechanic service in Abu Dhabi, but every page called itself the best, so I could not tell who to believe. So I want to ask people who made this switch. How did you pick your mechanic, by word of mouth, reviews or just visiting the workshop? What do you look for when you walk in, like a clean workshop, proper tools, a diagnostic scanner? Do they use genuine parts or good quality alternatives, and do they tell you which one you are paying for? Is it normal to get a written quote before the work starts, and an itemised bill after? Did the car’s resale value suffer because it no longer had a full dealer service history? And have you ever had a bad experience that taught you what to avoid? If you moved from the dealer to a mechanic, please tell me what you saved, what you got in return, and if you would do it again. Easy answers help me most.
