Adding silica during the first weeks thickens cell walls and helps a fast growing plant support heavy flowers without staking. It works best early, since there is no window later to build structure retroactively. Height and stretch figures on https://turboautoflowerseeds.com show which varieties get tall enough to need it. Silica also raises pH noticeably, so mix it first and adjust afterwards.
