what in the @$%#^& does Best Match mean?

on ebay my default settings seems to be Best Match and half the time I forget to switch it to Ending Soonest. What do they mean by Best Match?
I didn't go to Ebay to look but I think when you type in search the site will bring up what they think matches what you are looking for? ::)
I don't use Ebay but I do agree with tink.I sometimes get that message when I search inside a website.;D ;D
What tee's me off, is when someone sells at auction and starts the bidding at what they want out of the detector (many times close to the price of a new one).That's not an auction.
