One tip I'd like to share, I use gaffers tape (it doesn't leave any sticky residue when removed) to wrap around and protect the foam handgrip of my detectors. Pull it tightly as you wrap around the grip to remove the indents and wrinkles. I put just a touch of superglue at the very end of the tape after I've wrapped it around otherwise the end will fray up fairly quickly. I know others have done the same thing using bicycle tape.
