Can't say that I am familiar with that detector. Will try to look into it on other sites.Maybe others have used them.    Mark is up on a lot of them. Maybe he has used one and will jump in here.

You almost paid for your parking LOL  If you are going to stick to WB you may have to meet someone there where you can park. Of course early morns and evenings are the best times anyway.    Hunting with the Explorer you really have to teach yourself to slow down. As they say - walk slow, swing slow. swing low, listen for the whispers.            KEEP IT FUN

I use iron mask to cover about 1/4 of the screen. Then I hunt in digital for grass lawns. Have to pass up some iffys but want to be able to come back  Got out for an hour today. Open fields have thawed. Only dug a nickel and a wheat, but for field hunting it lets me know I am in a hunting spot.  I was set up for the woods with a 5" coil but we still have a frost line there. Today started with a heavy frost, about 20 F but then warmed up and was beautiful. I think our season has started. We may get more snow but I don't think the ground will freeze again.

WOW! That is quite a find. I think I quite digging to soon, will have to start a bigger hole 🙂

Yeah, I see you don't run in iron mask. That will change a lot of your settings. Just a lot of fun to play with a machine that is smarter than I am 🙂  I may get out this afternoon for a short hunt. Will post if I find anything.

WOW!  You are definitely trying to cherry pick with that much of your screen blacked out. Once you learn your tones and watch where your X is you will be able to open up a little more.    This is something I would use in a nice lawn so I didn't dig a lot of trash. This what is nice about the Explorer, you can adjust to where you are hunting.    Have fun 🙂  Starting to thaw out up here and I will have to get my old body out pretty soon. Gets a little tougher every year. I don't bend as good as I used to.

Thanks Mark. It was 15 F this morn The beach looks great 🙂        I would never tell some one I found 60 gold rings or that I was wishing a storm would wash the sand away. I think the last beach nourishment at WB cost about 10,000,000 and a lot of the sand was gone in about 3 months. 🙁    They don't like people who want the sand to be gone. 🙂

Pretty neat find. I dig a lot smaller holes 🙂  Hey Marhttps://detectorstuff.com/forum/Smileys/akyhne/rolleyes.gifk - how do you post the smilies? Can't seem to access them anymore.  Just tried to copy and paste - that didn't work

That is pretty close to what I run. Like I said – swing slow and listen for the really faint tones. You will be digging targets others have missed.

HEY MARK – Jump in here. I went from the XS to the SE and never tried the EX 2,Does this have iron mask. I run in iron mask on the beach. Manual sensitivity around 22 - 24. Go into menu and x out nails, pull tabs, screws. Check in jewelry, coins etc. I run this same setup in the old fairgrounds up here. I turn my iron mask down to about 1/4 screen.    This should give you a place to start. I run digital up here but smart screen on the beach. Also with the Explorer series you have to swing a lot slower than you do with other models. They hunt deep and slow.

Good Detector. Really quick recovery time when hunting in discriminate. My Omega is deadly up here but I couldn't get it to stabilize to near the wet sand. Really light for hunting the dry sand and really screams out over good targets.                                    Have Fun.

Hey Guitarman.          That ring cleaned up nice. You are officially a beach hunter with all the bling you have been finding.      That little class ring I discovered in my pouch is a ladies ring from Wake Forest. The writing on the inside is so tiny I will have to have a pro look at it before I can return it. 2010 so it isn't very old.    Miss Mary is still working on it to clean it up.      Keep swinging and posting - see you on the sand.

Hey Ian – Good to hear from you. Hope things are looking up for you. been a little slow around the site and now I am froze in so won't be hunting either. Nice today but calls for a major snow storm in a short while.    beach was slow this year, then in the middle of our trip, happenings at home caused us to make a trip back. We went back to the beach but the extra travel bothered my back so my detecting was cut short. This old age isn't what it should be.  🙁

I just want to be able to keep on detecting. Dirt digging is getting tougher on my old body so I just hope to squeeze one day at a time.  Silver coins are becoming harder to find in my old haughts and the new areas take a bit of walking so this winter I will be hitting the tread mill.  1841 is my oldest silver in a while.
