I know what you mean. Our cable is more than our water-sewer-garbage and the shows are not worth watching. Miss Mary uses the TV as noise background so I face opposition for any change :'( We have been on fixed income for about 15 yrs and have managed so far. We do have a budget we "try" to go by 😛 All of life is a learning curve - fun isn't it 😀
WAY TO GO 😀 It looks like you will be having fun with your new equipment. It's surprising how you can like your old detector but then get one with different capabilities and it's like falling in love all over again. The circuits on the new stuff are so much quicker and most are a lot lighter than what I started with. Have fun and keep us posted. Snowing here again so it will be a while yet.
HEY! Fun time at the beach. Get it while you can, others will notice and pretty soon everyone will be swinging a new machine. I remember when I hit the beach with a Minelab Explorer. I was hitting targets right behind some other hunters. Finally one of them had to come over to see what I was swinging - couldn't believe I was digging good stuff in a worked out beach. Wasn't long before everyone had a Minelab of some sort 😀 Some guys don't like digging the deep stuff - they like new drops and hunting about 60 miles per hour.
HEY! Way to go. This is the time of year I get a little envious. I see on another site a guy detecting in deep snow over frozen ground, but I can wait. I hunker over my vise tying trout flies with visions of flowing water and big fish. Probably 6 weeks before any detecting. Fishing will get started before detecting so maybe I'll have to post some pics for that.
I like the looks of some of the new detectors and with the new electronics they have the jump on some of the ones I use but at my age I can't really justify buying one. I just got the CZ 21 and didn't really make much use of it at the beach. I hope to hit some of the old swimming holes around here if it ever warms up 😀 We usually get snow on the ground by late Oct. and it stays until mid march on the open ground and later on the wooded sites. It hasn't been above freezing for quite some time. Supposed to warm a little tomorrow for snow, then be down to -15 F by the end of the week.
Great hunt to finish the year – makes my 1 nickel and 1 cub scout pin look pretty weak ???Actually my whole year was pretty slow. Heat and bugs held me down during our detecting season up here.. My age is against me for hunting in hot weather any more. Found some silver, some older coppers but no bling. Beach hunt produced the one nice watch I posted in November and some 925 rings. Turning cold again now so probably done until mid March at the soonest. My second hobby will take over now. Tying trout flies and fishing them ;D
