You know, that's one thing I've not experimented with is after market coils.  I've seen a lot of folks very happy with theirs for Minelab and First Texas machines (Teks and Fishers).  I can't remember the specific coil, but someone was reporting remarkable depth using a large NEL or SEF (I think that's right) coil and an Omega recently.

Wow!  Cool finding a US silver quarter in your neck of the woods, Ian!

I do not have a clue what that is…but it's cool!

Very nice!  I  hope to give you some competition soon, Ian.  My retirement day is getting closer!

Sounds like a fun way to make a little cash!  As an old policeman, I would have jumped in there and asked to turn the crank!… those days may be gone though.

NP, that is the kind of stuff that is fueling the anti-metal detecting laws out there.  Maybe there should be some sort of ethics sign off sheet for joining clubs?  It's sad when folks don't see anything wrong with doing something that obviously bad!

Happy Birthday to the Mrs.!  I can't think of a better way to spend the day!  ;D

Actually, this is mainly about the design of the sensitivity control.  Do you want to reach the end of the scale and be noisy or still quiet.  For example, say the control can go from 1 – 10 (with 10 being “maxed out”).  Would you want to start hearing “noise” and being chattery at numbers 9 or 10 or do you want it being quiet all the way to the end of the scale.I think it's a psychological thing.  Some go "wow! I can run it maxed out and it stays quiet!" vs. "It starts getting chattery around a setting of 8 or 9".  Some people feel like something is wrong if they can't hit the end of the scale.Does this make sense to everyone?

American Digger is a cool one…I met those guys when Tony NC and I were hunting some sites near his neck of the woods.

I have some back issues of a few…however, I don't subscribe these days.  A little too pricey.

You could have used it as a selling point!  You could say, ” somewhere in this yard is buried treasure!… it can be yours along with the house!”  Some pirate laughter right after that would seal the deal!  😀 ....then they'd have you committed.

Work out a deal with the new owner to come back this Summer!  Sentimental value and all that.

Great job on the deep coins!  I bet the combo of the F70 and hearing the targets well with the new headphones have helped.
